Schoolbus
.
School over
The bell rings
I climb onto the bus
Staking my claim
A long three seater
All for me
Only for me
I drop into the corner
And put knees up on seat back
I ignore the look from the bus aide
She should know better
The driver on the CB
"Hey 21! See that show?"
Ninny conversations
Headphones - CD - Play
Drown it all out
CD of the day - something metal
"Like - oh my god - did you like see Jenny's...byoukizami uchikonde mimimoto..."
The music drowns out the babbling
We finally start driving
My mind goes numb - blocking out sound
I watch the bus consume the road
-turn left
-apply pressure to right leg
That annoying kid sitting behind me
Taps me on the shoulder - waking me from my drone state
"Shut up." I mumble
And sink back into near unconsciousness
The trip drags on
Onto the highway
Track 1, Track 2, Track 3
-right turn
-pressure on left leg
Track 4
Sudden stop
-Hand shoots out
-secures bag
Highway exit to town
-long right turn
-pressure on left leg
-lean right
Into town
Left turn
Right turn
Through intersection
19 E. Center
Finally
I come out of the corner
And trudge down the steps
The bus pulls away
Leaving me
Unwilling to do it all again
Tomorrow

When I rode the bus that's exactly what I went through. I even had my CD player too. But nobody tapped my on the back or anything.

probably the funniest, mostest nostalgiastic, to the point part...
ahhhh geez....love the new presentation of your short FRAGMENTISH phrases...
interestingly...the whole 'hyphen thing' was/is fairly recent, but used/placed slightly differently...
and the short-concentrated-beam-of-thought technique is very effective...rather surgical and innovative
this one's a keeper.
Question: when did you develop the "." opening & closing and why?
2nd question: "My mind goes numb - blocking out sound"
yet the cd player is on...i know you said that the cd drowns it all out, but is it heard?
**transition from conversation to music -- excellent
Last note (cause I was going to end this about 3 comments ago) it almost has a "luge" (sp?) feel...maybe you should explore the world of bobsledding instead of computers as a profession?
i know i know...that would require too much effort on your part.
Great piece tho...bring in a copy (and you still haven't brought in a hard copy of the Chess Poem)

...end of line
i cant relate tho
my buses were a bit more.. mmelodramtic

I don't think you need to have The music drowns out the babbling in there... though without your description I suppose I might have been lost...

Got an idea you don't want to use? Need an idea?
You need Elements Of-Art!!!
I sill can't laugh about that torture.
Music, such a saviour.
I like this though, very well presented.
Very well put, and I like the

I'd give my left arm to play the drums for Def Leppard.
